                Rules

 

I. “Majorette Show” online festival key features

 

  1. Choreographic groups, whose repertoire includes dancing with articles, are admitted to participate in the online festival. The articles may be from majorette’s properties (batons, pompons, flags) as well as from drummer’s (drums) or any other kind of articles which satisfy nature and theme of the submitted dance routine.

  2. The online festival is held in the form of a competition in three categories (see par. III).

  3. The competition period lasts from 01.03 to 01.04. 2017. The application form should be sent in to the organizing committee by April 1th at the latest.

  4. The competition is held as follows. A reference to the dance routine video recording uploaded to YouTube or any other video sharing website, is published on the                                                           competition channel and then estimated by jury and channel audience.

  5. As soon as the competition is over, all contestants are invited to the online conference; during this live internet broadcasting the jury analyses each group’s performance and announces the results of the competition.

  6. Diplomas and prizes are presented to festival participants after the competition’s completion, by the post.

  7. The performance should be thematic and have a name. Nameless dance routines will be of a low opinion of the jury.

  8. The theme of the dance routine may be realized via some elements, such as music, costumes, make-up, choreography, equipment, stage scenery, or the combination of those.

  9. The competition performances will be estimated by an international jury consisting of the representatives of Poland, the Ukraine and Russia.

  10. Each member of the jury estimates dance routines at the following criteria: choreography and composition, motion techniques, work with the properties.

  11. While estimating the performance level the jury considers the next features:

- distinctive character of the concept and theme;

- unity of the costumes, music and properties and the dance routine theme;

- ingenious and creative visual effects using properties and composition;

- acrobatic elements, lifting, jumps and other special feats.

 

II. To take part in the competition you should:

 

  1. Log in the festival website “Majorette Show”;

  2. Fill in the application form and send it in to the organizing committee;

  3. Upload the competition routine video to any video sharing website.

  4. Participation in the festival is FREE OF CHARGE.


III. Competitive categories

 

  1.  Dance routine using majorettes’ properties (batons, pompons, flags, ).

  2.  Dance routine using drums (properties from par. 1 are allowed).

  3.  Dance routine using other properties (excluding ones from pars 1 & 2).

  4.  Each team can participate only two categories.


IV. Competition’s participants

 

  1. Choreographic groups, whose repertoire includes dance routines fitting the competition categories, are admitted to participate in the contest (see par. III).

  2. Participants’ age: unrestricted.

  3. Number of members a group: unrestricted.

  4. Each group may take part in no more than two competition nominations.


V. Competition performance video requirements

 

  1. The length of the dance routine should not exceed 3 minutes. If it does, the performance rating will be reduced.

  2. The submitted dance routine should be recorded from a single spot, without zoom-in and zoom-out.

  3. Lighting effects during the performance are acceptable.

  4. The format of video file uploaded to any video hosting service (except Youtube) must be the same format as of Youtube videos in order to allocate performance video on the special festival channel.

  5. After the dance routine video has been uploaded to any video sharing website, you should email the reference to your video with the filled in application form to the organizing committee.


VI. Awards

 

  1. All participants of the festival are awarded of diplomas.

  2. The laureates of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes are determined in each category.

  3. The best group of the festival is awarded a Grand Prix.

  4. An audience voting determines the holder of the “People’s Choice Award”.
